“As a child, one creates his or her own magical worlds out of cardboard. Though unbeknownst to the children, they have taken control of their own surroundings and created powerful symbols to express their desires and fears. However, this world exists only as long as the materials can withstand, symbolizing the fragility of their control of the world around them. I enjoy using children as subjects in order to represent innocence and naivety, particularly pertaining to control and power”.
